Automatic Accelerometer Calibration System

The customer's Automated Accelerometer Calibration System provides NIST traceable calibration of most accelerometer types, whether self-generating piezo-electric or accelerometers requiring current or voltage excitation. The output of the accelerometer can be charge or voltage, single- ended or differential, AC or DC coupled, isolated or grounded.

In building the automatic calibration system, the need is for optimum versatility with regards to the data acquisition card. LabVIEW is the desired control software, and Signal to Noise Ratio and high vertical resolution is of utmost importance for the small variations that occur in Vibration and Shock signals. Ultimately, results will be stored in an Access database, but need to be displayed initially for instant user feedback.

GAGE'S SOLUTION

By choosing the CompuScope 1602 with a 10MS/s sample rate upgrade the customer will be taking advantage of the following features:

· High 16 bit Vertical Resolution

· Very high Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) of 75dB

· Differential Inputs

A CompuScope Software Development Kit for LabVIEW will provide the tools to use LabVIEW to control the acquisition stage. CompuScope cards have a software selectable gain range, timebase, vertical scale, coupling, impedance and sampling rate. By developing a small application program that will load setup files depending on the model of accelerometer under test, the system becomes fully automated with correct settings guaranteed.

PRODUCT RECOMMENDED

CompuScope 1602-1M
