Montreal, Canada ( April 17, 2000) - Gage Applied Sciences Inc., the leading manufacturer of Advanced Instruments based on the PC platform, today announces the joining of forces with Tektronix, Inc., Beaverton, Oregon. Gage Applied Sciences, now a wholly owned subsidiary of Tektronix, will operate under the name Gage Applied, Inc.
A part of Gage Applied Sciences’ strategy has been to identify partnerships that will enable our business to reach its maximum potential. Over the past 13 years, Gage has become the leader in advanced instruments on the PC platform providing data acquisition and instrumentation products which are world renowned for high speed, high resolution, high channel count, deep acquisition memory and sophisticated software. Gage has also been recognized for its own growth, four-years running, by Profit Magazine.
Aligning Gage to Tektronix’s Instrumentation business brings together over 60 years of experience in instrumentation and will allow Gage to provide world-class technology solutions for our customers. Gage and Tektronix’ combined engineering teams will apply their energies into innovative technology and product development, to provide a broader family of product solutions to meet a wider range of applications.
Muneeb Khalid, president of Gage Applied Sciences states: "Tektronix’s entry into card-based instrumentation will advance the transformation of the PC into a platform for measurement solutions. This acquisition will allow Tektronix to expand their product portfolio by entering into the high performance, PC card-based instrumentation market. Tektronix will leverage its award-winning technology with Gage’s expertise in high-end, PC based applications to meet growing customer demands for flexible PC-based measurement solutions.

With its head office in Montreal, Canada, the Gage subsidiary will be the exclusive point of contact for all sales, marketing, support and service for all Gage’s existing products as well as new product introductions. The company will continue to be run by the same management team with Muneeb Khalid serving as the General Manager.
Gage will continue to sell and support its current family of CompuScope and CompuGen products including analog input cards, analog output cards, digital input cards, digital output cards, extensive family of sophisticated software products as well as complete measurement systems catering to customer application requirements.
