Montreal, Canada ( July 23, 2001) - Gage Applied Technologies, a leading manufacturer of Instrument Building Blocks based on the personal computer platform, today announced the availability of even faster 16 bit waveform digitization (A/D) technology for PCI bus. CompuScope 1610 is by far the fastest 16 bit waveform digitizer available on the market in any form factor, be it card modular or stand-alone, thus enabling measurements in imaging, shock wave testing and analytical chemistry that were previously not possible.
"Our customers asked for even faster 16 bit performance and we delivered by developing a unique technology that allows sampling speeds to be improved by 400% to 10 MS/s and still yield the same signal to noise ratio," stated Muneeb Khalid, General Manager of Gage Applied. "This product release is in line with our overall corporate strategy of providing our target customers with Instrument Building Blocks that offer differential advantage."

About Gage's 16 Bit Oscilloscope Cards
In 1999, Gage released a 2.5 MS/s oscilloscope card which was the first product in its class to offer 16 bit resolution at multi-MHz speeds. Now with the release of CompuScope 1610, Gage again breaks speed barriers and now offers 16 bit resolution scope cards with 10 MS/s sampling.
Compatible With GageScope Oscilloscope Software
CompuScope 1610 is fully compatible with GageScope ® Oscilloscope software that allows users to operate the CompuScope 1610 straight out of the box.
Software Support
Gage also offers Software Development Kits (SDKs) for C/C++, MATLAB ® and LabVIEW ® , with support for Windows 95/98, Windows NT and Windows 2000.
Typical Applications
Typical applications of the CompuScope 1610 include High Quality Imaging, Shock Wave Testing, Disk Drive Testing, RADAR, RF Receivers, CCD testing .
Availability and Pricing
CompuScope 1610 featuring 10 MS/s sampling will become available immediately with a projected lead time of 3 weeks ARO for small quantity orders.
