CompuScope 82GC

Montreal, Canada ( September 23, 2002) - Gage Applied Technologies, a leading manufacturer of Performance Digitizers based on the personal computer platform, today announced the launch of CompuScope 82GC, a new family of 2 GS/s waveform digitizer cards for the CompactPCI and PXI bus featuring deep on-board acquisition memory of up to 16 Megasamples.

"Customers in our target market are involved in testing their own state-of-the-art products and they required a CompactPCI / PXI digitizer capable of measuring their wideband signals. Our engineers were able to deliver a solution based on Gage's 2GS/s technology coupled with our industry-leading software drivers and SDKs", stated Karen McCurry, Marketing Manager of Gage Applied. "This product release is aligned with our overall corporate strategy of providing high performance digitizer hardware and software for customers constructing PC based instrument solutions."

Supports Bus Mastering

CompuScope 82GC supports bus mastering in order to provide fast, 80 MB/s data transfer from on-board memory to host RAM. This fast throughput betters GPIB linked oscilloscopes by a factor of almost 1000, allowing the user to do automated testing at a much faster rate - improving the manufacturing efficiency, saving time and money.

Pre-Trigger Multiple Record

Pre-Trigger Multiple Record is a feature unique to CompuScope 82GC. It allows the customer to capture both pre-trigger and post-trigger data for rapidly occurring trigger events, without losing data from any one of the events. A typical application in which this feature is invaluable is lightning test, which requires measurement of pre-trigger as well as post-trigger data and where the triggers can occur within microseconds of each other.

Software Support

All members of CompuScope 82GC family are fully compatible with GageScope ® Oscilloscope software that allows users to acquire and analyze signals without having to write a single line of programming code.

Gage also offers Software Development Kits (SDKs) for C/C++, MATLAB ® and LabVIEW ® , with support for Windows 98/ME and Windows NT/2000/XP.

Typical Applications

Typical applications of the CompuScope 82GC digitizers include manufacturing test of telecom equipment, radar signal analysis, proton decay measurement, IF signal recording and Optical head test for industries such as Wireless Communications, Data Storage, Military/Aerospace and High Energy Physics.
