6U CompactPCI/PXI Chassis Designed for High Power Instrumentation Cards
Montreal, Canada ( June 23, 2003) - Gage Applied Technologies, a leading manufacturer of high performance digitizers based on the personal computer platform, announces the release of Instrument Mainframe 8000C chassis for CompactPCI/PXI cards.
Instrument Mainframe 8000C can be purchased either with a MXI-3 Kit that allows the users to use their existing PC as the controller for the chassis or with a Controller Kit Single Board Computer that provides local intelligence.
The Instrument Mainframe 8000C chassis features a CompactPCI/PXI backplane with 8 usable slots that can house both 3U and 6U form factor cards. The backplane has been fully qualified to work with Gage's family of CompactPCI/PXI bus CompuScope digitizer cards.
Gage even tests each backplane to verify the maximum data throughput specification for its CompuScope cards - typically 80 MB/s.
"Customer feedback clearly told us that the absence of a reasonably priced, yet high performance chassis was an impediment to deployment of CompactPCI/PXI test systems", stated Karen McCurry, Marketing Manager of Gage Applied. "As always, we listened to our customers and designed the Instrument Mainframe 8000C from the ground up to allow our customers to maximize the value of their test systems."
In addition to the fully qualified backplane, the Instrument Mainframe 8000C provides a robust 550 Watt power supply, a 217 CFM forced air cooling system, 19" rackmount capability and temperature monitoring.
Instrument Mainframe 8000C is compatible with the popular Windows operating systems. Users can operate the Instrument Mainframe 8000C under Windows 98, Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows ME and Windows XP.
