Gage Applied Technologies Announces New Family of Multi-Channel Digitizers
Lockport, Illinois (November 7, 2005) - Gage Applied Technologies, worldwide leader in design and manufacture of high-performance PC-based digitizer and oscilloscope cards, announces a new family of multi-channel digitizers that will be available in early 2006. Gage's OctopusT family of digitizers features up to 8 channels, up to 4 GB of on-board acquisition memory, and up to 125 MS/s sampling per channel in a single-slot PCI card.
The Octopus family of digitizers is modular by design and allows users to custom-build their own digitizer according to their specific needs by choosing from:
- 2 to 8 digitizing channels (highest # of channels in a single digitizing card available on the market today)
- 12 or 14-bit resolution
- 10 to 125 MS/s sampling per channel (highest sampling rate available on the market today for an 8-channel digitizer)
- 256 MB to 4 GB of on-board acquisition memory (highest amount of on-board memory available in a digitizer on the market today)
Gage's new multi-channel digitizers far surpass current digitizer offerings available on the market today in terms of combined channel count, sampling rate, and on-board memory, but perhaps most notably, low price per channel.
"We are targeting a price per channel of less than $1000.00," said Eric Gillas, General Manager of Gage Applied Technologies. "We recognize the industry need for a low-cost digitizer. Since our Octopus digitizers were designed to be modular, users pay for only the features that they need rather than unnecessarily paying for a 'one-size fits all' digitizer solution", Gillas added. "This flexible and cost-effective solution is ideal for integration into OEM products."
Optionally available on any of the Octopus digitizers are Gage's new eXpertT advanced on-board FPGA technologies: Finite Impulse Response Filtering, Signal Averaging, Peak Detection, or FFT. Gage's eXpert technologies allow users to perform on-the-fly data analysis and greatly increase the speed of data processing.
Gage's Octopus family of digitizers is fully compatible with GageScope® Oscilloscope software that allows users to acquire and analyze signals without writing a single line of programming code. Gage also offers Software Development Kits (SDKs) in C/C#, MATLAB® , LabVIEW® , and LabWindows/CVI for users that want to create their own custom applications.
