Questions Related to Specific Gage Products

Q. I want to build a test system to validate the specifications of the A/D chips we use in our broadband system.

I noticed your CompuScope 3200.  It will be fine for capturing digital data from the A/D chips. Do you supply software for evaluating this data to give me SNR, SINAD, SFDR, IMD etc.?

A. Gage does not supply A/D chip evaluation software as a standard catalog product.

In the past, Gage has shared its in-house A/D chip evaluation software with some strategic customers. Strategic customers are the ones who have shared their long term product and technology development plans with Gage and have signed a binding non-disclosure agreement.

This software was supplied on an as-is basis with no support from the factory. Gage is currently discouraging the sharing of such unsupported software.

A simpler solution for you is to have a third party software developer create this software for you in C/C++, MATLAB or LabVIEW using the SDKs we supply for CompuScope 3200.

Gage will be open to sharing intellectual property in the shape of algorithms for calculating dynamic parameters with your system integrator, as long as that integrator does not work with products that are competitive to Gage.

Gage reserves all rights for determining whether or not an integrator qualifies for access to this intellectual property.

Technically, MATLAB will be the preferred environment, since their FFT algorithms are perceived to be superior to LabVIEW.

However, you may have better luck finding a local LabVIEW system integrator than a MATLAB one.

Please contact your local Gage representative for assistance.
