Q. I am thinking about using six CompuScope 1012 A/D cards in a master / slave configuration to achieve 12 channels at 5 MSPS. Each board will have a total of 2 Meg of on-board memory.

  1. Can this configuration run alright?
  2. Can it run in a Pentium Based system?
  3. Can it run using LabVIEW?
  4. Can it run under Windows NT?

A. Yes, this CompuScope 1012 configuration will run perfectly. You may run this system in a Pentium-based, Industrial Grade computer, such as our Gage PC 586.

We suggest industrial grade computers for two main reasons : forced air cooling and good quality power supply. In fact, we would recommend that you purchase a "turn-key" system from us: we will install the boards in an industrial PC, ensure that proper power supplies are installed and pre-test the system before shipping it to you.

In 1995 we shipped a number of similar systems with six CompuScope 6012's to a major aerospace company. We supply a very high performance LabVIEW driver for the CompuScope 1012 cards.

A Windows NT DLL is also available.
