Q. I am planning to use a CompuScope 250 in an ultra-sonic application that requires very high time resolution. I want to have a pulse source that fires synchronously with the A/D clock on the Gage board. Can you recommend a way to achieve this? Is there a point at which I can extract a clock signal from the board that is synchronous with the sampling time?

A. We can do a custom modification at the factory on the CompuScope 250 with which we can output the CONVERT signal of the A/D converter through the fourth BNC connector (we will remove the Test Out signal).

Conversion takes place on the low-to-high edge of the CONVERT signal. This output is driven by a 50 Ohm TTL driver and should be terminated by the circuit using it with a 50 Ohm termination.

Note that for new designs we recommend the CompuScope 265 instead of the CS250.
